The ginger rhizomes were soaked and bathed in a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution before heading to a flat with a light covering of dirt. Now we wait for shoots and the first leaves to appear before up-potting.
To help increase the germination rate, the spinach seeds were wrapped in paper towels soaked in diluted hydrogen peroxide and placed in the fridge. They will be ready for planting into seed trays in a couple of weeks. Usually we direct sow spinach seeds, but we want an earlier start and more uniformity out in the garden so we'll try transplanting them this year.
